Our Story

We met in college...

"Melissa transferred to Union our Sophomore year and we had the majority of our classes together in the business school. After being assigned to be partners for a project for SIFE, we realized we had a lot in common and quickly became best friends. We shared many adventures including business school cookouts, beach trips, treats from Sonic and learning to Penny Board together. My time in college wouldn't be the same without her.

Fast forward a few years and after graduating from college I moved to Louisville to work at her dad's CPA firm for a "temporary position."  What I thought was temporary actually became very permanent when I developed feelings for Melissa and we started dating. We are so excited to be engaged and spend the rest of our lives together! "

- Jordan

"I met Jordan during my first week of college at Union. I remember meeting him during freshman orientation week through mutual friends. He was sitting outside with a group that would soon become my best friends. They were all talking about Harry Potter and I thought "Nerd! We may not be friends." (Update: I was wrong, I now love Harry Potter and as it turns out, we became much more than friends). As fellow business majors we had tons of classes together and bonded through the projects we had to do for our business club. Shout out to SIFE for randomly assigning us as teaching partners. Jordan became one of my best friends and our friends at Union became more like family. We will always be fond of Union, dearest Union for bringing us together.

After graduation, I moved home to Louisville and started working for my dad’s accounting firm to try to use the marketing degree I had just earned (thanks dad). Jordan moved to Nashville for a management internship for the summer. We kept in touch and would meet up when our group of friends got together. After his internship was over, Jordan was looking for work and our office was hiring seasonal help. We were discussing potential candidates for the job and my mom said "What about your friend, Jordan Hayes?" (Thanks mom). Before we knew it, Jordan had moved to Louisville to work at our firm for tax season. Through a long series of events that could only have been orchestrated by the Lord, Jordan decided to stay in Louisville and we went on our first date about a year later. He brought me flowers, took me to our favorite restaurant, and we never looked back! Loving Jordan is easy. It's true what they say, dating your best friend is truly the best!"
